The Kit Kat brand goes as far back as 1911 when York-based Rowntree trademarked the name, though didn’t use the term immediately. The first Kit Kats appeared in the 1920’s but were eventually discontinued until the brand was re-launched in 1935 when a worker developed the 4 finger chocolate as a snack “A man could take to work in his pack”
Now Kit Kat bars are produced in 16 countries around the world by Nestlé, the Kit Kat Chunky version was introduced in 1999 and has been a great success across the globe.
